[edit]O'Leary is a LEGEND!!!
He certainly is! A legendary PRAT!
Need source: "Dispute with Jack charlton following a refusal to join up with Irish Team because he had been told previously that he was not needed and so boked a holiday with his family. This curtailed his international career and he diddn't play again until the famous Romania game at Italia '90."--good squishee 17:13, 26 September 2006 (UTC)
David O'Leary is British
[edit]Should David O'leary be called Britsh since he was born in England and lives in England and played his entire career in England and he considers himself british. .Danny 80y (talk) 13:44, 17 April 2012 (UTC)Danny 80y
- What makes you think that he considers himself British? Fmph (talk) 13:48, 17 April 2012 (UTC)
- As per sporting nationality on wiki he is the natiionality he represented internationally. Oddly enough I have never heard him say he is British in his Dublin accent. Murry1975 (talk) 19:00, 17 April 2012 (UTC)
That is total nonsense David O'Leary has a Yorkshire accent go on youtube and listen to him plus he looks British and on your point there nowhere in the article stating his nationailty. On your point As per sporting nationality on wiki he is the natiionality he represented not true on Matt Holland's page they say hes English-born Irish footballer and on Jonathan Walters they say English-born Irish footballer ,it doesn't matter what country you represent ,its where you were born what it says on your Birth Certificate plus If David was good enough to play for England they would have picked him but he wasn't good enough and the Rep of Ireland under Jack Charlton chose players with any Irish hertiage even if it was only through there Granny. There was a joke in The Herald about it ,All around Britain this week, a batch of fringe footballers may start searching their parents' attics and their family trees to see if they can try and jump aboard a bandwagon heading for the World Cup with the Boys in Green. source http://www.herald.ie/sport/soccer/granny-rule-options-open-1765767.html--Danny 80y (talk) 21:47, 17 April 2012 (UTC)
- Maybe you dont understand wiki policy Danny 80y. Oddily enough he was a dublin accent, wonder how he would get a Yorkshire accent, he lived in Dublin from the age of 2 until 16 then London until he was in his 30s. "Looks British", really? How does that look different from Irish, given the historic interaction between the two? O'Leary was capped before Charlton managed Ireland. The rules stated country of birth, irrespective of citizenship or nationality, these where changed and the "granny rule" came in allowing Terry Butcher and John Barnes to play for England aswell as the more publishised Irish players. Learn the history first. You seem mainly here to disrupt the project. Murry1975 (talk) 11:11, 18 April 2012 (UTC)
Irish look totally different to the British ,The majority of Irish Males have small flat noses ,where the British have a the Snub nose or hook nose.I am here to help and be construcitve.--Danny 80y (talk) 09:37, 19 April 2012 (UTC)
- Do they really? Where is the proof of this generic difference? And how would being born in England effect the looks of a person born of two Irish parents? You are here to purely disrupt. You as Woody ty are currently blocked and as Danny 80y have already been blocked with a few days. Stop disrupting the project and learn the guidelines of Wiki.
